Each rug is made using a mid-weight, flat-weave cotton that has been hand-dyed using azo-free dyes and is hand-woven in India by a third-generation family-owned business in Bhadohi. This means that each and every rug is unique and will look slightly different than the next. As you'll notice in the imagery, you'll occasionally see details signifying the rug's handmade nature (ex: a loose thread).

Small: 4' x 6'
Medium: 6' x 9'
Large: 8' x 10'

Residential, light/medium commercial

WIP rugs are handwoven and made from natural materials, so some wear and tear is to be expected.

Meet the designer: Jessica Poundstone

Meet Jessica Poundstone, the fabulous designer of our debut rug collection! Jessica is an artist living and working in Portland, Oregon. Jessica has been featured by Real Simple, SFMOMA, Anthropologie, Dwell, Supersonic, designlovefest and more. She was also named a Top 100 Artist by Saatchi Art.

Jessica has also been featured by some incredible interior designers like Emily Henderson, Natalie Myers, Summer Thornton, and Tilton Fenwick, and is up on the walls of collectors in New York, L.A., London, Paris and everywhere in between. Her work is informed and inspired by color sensation, color field, minimalism, and experiential “light and space” art movements.

The Work in progress team loves working with Jessica because she’s a super cool human and fun to work with. In addition to that, her art was destined to be translated into rugs, and we were so thrilled to work with her to bring these textiles to life.

Jessica believes that art is part of a self-care practice that changes the way we see, think & feel - and ultimately changes us. We love that WIP rugs are born from these sentiments and hope they translate as customers bring these rugs into their homes.
